Please be advised that due to the effects of Covid-19
and the recommendations of the CDC, we have
temporarily switched exclusively to providing telehealth
services as of 3/16/2020. We are currently accepting new
patients through this platform.
Please see the information below regarding these services:
As you are aware, over the past few days new efforts and protocols have been put in place to help ensure the health and safety of our local community members. To remain consistent with advice from our local authorities, we have made the difficult, yet important decision to temporarily move all sessions to a telehealth model. During this uncertain time we also understand that your family may need more support, and we want to assure you that we are here to provide it, and do our best to continue to provide consistent, high quality care.
A telehealth model means all regularly scheduled sessions will take place via doxy.me video conferencing. Doxy.me is a telemedecine platform specifically meant for use by healthcare professionals and complaint with HIPAA security and privacy laws.
Your clinician will be reaching out to you by phone to confirm/modify appointment times at the beginning of each week. It will be important for you and/or your child to have a private location so that we can “meet” meet uninterrupted for a full 45 minutes.
For younger children, we may need some parent guidance as we get used to this new system. We hope to continue to speak with parents for a few minutes, as usual, during the 45 minute session. Both parents and children should have complete privacy during each of their turns on video.
As for insurance reimbursement, the American Psychological Association is working closely with insurance companies regarding reimbursement for video sessions. It is our understanding that some insurance companies may already reimburse for video sessions, and that plans which do not already do so are likely to make exceptions at this time. For specific information regarding your healthcare plan, we strongly recommend that you contact them directly and as soon as possible. The CPT code for telemedicine is 90834.95._______________________________________________________________________________________________________
